I just heard a few commercials on T.V. that made me flashback to how we were taught and trained in the Org.
When I compare the two now there are so many similarities. Both of them seem nothing more than sales pitches.
To try and get people motivated to buy their products that some would normally not think twice about even
purchasing many companies have realized to attach a sense of urgency to their product. With phrases such as:
for a limited time only, only a short time remaining, time is quickly running out, get it while you can, etc. they
have cashed in on peoples fears of missing out.
The one thing I've noticed is you can bet on them to increase the time perpetually by saying something like
due to overwhelming customer response we have decided to increase/extend the time period. This sounds so much
like what happened with the society as regards the end coming. It's close, very close, just around the corner, nearer
than you may think, act now while there is yet time, the time left is reduced etc.
Each time one of these campaigns was pushed the end result was the same as with these other companies:
more sales/sells, more sense of urgency, more gathering to get in line for the product/service that was only going to
be for a little while longer.
