the prize for most evil goes to.... judge rutherford!.
he transformed russells organization completely, starting by plotting a coup to give him power before russell was dead in the grave. Knorr may have been the guy who made it into an effective machine, thereby affecting more with the dangerous teachings, but all the bad stuff can be traced back to or began with rutherford.
Actually it sounds like Russell was kind of a nice guy :-) .

The Almighty Homer
I think Russell was probably the least harmful, he seemed to be more of a business tycoon focusing more on circulating his
own published literature as his natural profession was a salesman. He played more of an opportunistic role as some important messenger toward
the public, selling his books and shinning a light on himself at the same time.
Rutherford was more of an egotistical power getter who stepped over many just to set himself into power.
But he too as it was shown was just as under handily devious when it came to selling the Watchtower's literature and propelling
himself up as someone specially chosen by the Almighty as the true voice of god.
But lets face it folks they were book and magazine peddlers, they were driven to sell whatever they printed, in light of this
it isn't really too surprising then that they were full of misinformed bullshit. People write things knowing beforehand how well their writings are going to sell
this is true even in the religious field of literature. It was these particular mens ideas that the gospel of Christ could be sold well if it was done
in a certain way..........and they were absolutely right.
