Last week the JW who works for me was sitting in his van and I walked by and he motioned for me to come over. He then proceeded to show me a collection of Watchtowers he has from different countries/languages of one particular issue. He had about 40 editions of the same one and he was showing me how the Winesses adopt the local flavor on some of them if the Society feels it's necessary. This included changing the race of the people featured on the cover as well as changing their clothes, hair styles and lengths etc.
Some time ago I was on Castro street (gay disctrict) in San Francisco with my wife and we noticed a barber shop that had a sign that read "Appearances are important, Make yours a best one" which was followed by "Back Shave $5.00. Buttocks Wax $10.00." Do JW's who live around that area have to adopt the local flavor? Can you be denied a MS position because you have a hairy back and tush?
