inpired by another thread.....funny, but most dubs would quickly say "the Bible"......and maybe even mention the brooklyn sign that says "read gods word the bible daily"......yet why?

dubs teach that there is no way to understand the bible, unless WT through is faithful and discreet slave "class" (and that is one class i would like to see graduate already).......

they would point to: (Acts 8:29-31) . . ." 30 Philip ran alongside and heard him reading aloud Isaiah the prophet, and he said: "Do you actually know what you are reading?" 31 He said: "Really, how could I ever do so, unless someone guided me?" . . .

so why the fluck would WT keep that sign up there when everone is just wasting their reading time with the Bible alone???.....and why do they urge daily bible reading rather than WT material only? Of course the bible says:

    (Hebrews

funny it does not say it needs WT for its power or shapness, and damm it is like a Crystal Ball discerning your thoughts and all........damm spooky scripture if you ask me......i mean who here wants their "soul and spirt pierced and divided"?!?!?!?........that scripture is used all the time as a great one by dubs, but at face value it should have kept me from reading the bible.................oompa

are there scriptures that indicate the bible (gods word) can help it's readers without WT??......

Many jws feel they are reading the bible when they read the publications, after all a few scriptures are actually quoted, many snippets, and mostly cited (but not quoted) scriptures. Even the Daily Text, is merely the regurgitation of a WT paragraph with a scripture highlighted. I was stunned how many scriptures are never mentioned in the publications when I helped my husband do Bible Highlights in the school.

hmmm...i thought this would have had more interest.....but you never know.......esp if you get the subject/title line boring or stupid.....

i guess the bible seems even less important if you need a WT guidebook/mag to splain it to you.....so in printed material dubland......if you were in a bubble or prison or such.......you would be better off with WT than bible...........oompa

I read the Bible every day. I don't usually have time to read entire chapters, but I always look at the Bible.

I do, however, listen to the Daily Audio Bible via podcast. I started listening daily to it in May, so by next May I'll have "read" the whole Bible in a year.

I think it's important to read the Bible through the lens of Jesus, rather than through the lens of Watch Tower teachings.

I used to read the watchtower everyday when I was young, I got very confused.

Then I read the bible everyday in my middle years. 30's- 50's and I got totally confused.

Religion is a device to pray on the weak and keep the working classes down.

    Its a great manipulater.

The good news is, if you have any grey matter you will see through the watchtower or the bible

sooner or latter. They both tell lies.

    Neither.

    The Bible lies.

    The washtowel lies.
