Building the temple begins with the first stone.
The stones for this sacrificial altar have been gathered from the dead sea where they have not been touched by human hands or metal.
A lot of precautions are taken so that these rocks are not handled nor touched by metal as they are transported.
A special tar type cement is being used in the assembly.
It is being built to the specification required by Jewish law.
Here are some photographs of the stones being gathered.

I bet they had to wash up and get blessed up and prayed over and god knows what else in order to be chosen as perfect enough to work on that chain gang!
Besides info states that they WRAP the rocks. I do not know details, maybe they must wrap them to pick them up. (??)

Rabbi Yehuda Glick, director of the Temple Institute, says he assumes Muslims will be supportive when the Temple is ready to be built:

“Unfortunately, we cannot currently build the altar in its proper place, on the Temple Mount,” Temple Institute director Yehudah Glick said. “We are building an altar of the minimum possible size so that we will be able to transport it to the Temple when it is rebuilt."
Looks like it is not the real thing. An interesting development though.
For sure, once the temple is rebuilt and the daily sacrifice resumes, things will be wide open

Seems to me there could very well be a compromise on using the same location.
