Director John Hughes died today. He directed some of the iconic films of the 80s that spoke to Generation X, namely, The Breakfast Club and Pretty in Pink. Though my favorite John Hughes movie was Ferris Buhler's Day Off. The scene that resonated with me was the one in which the character Cameron was staring at Seurat's Sunday Afternoon on the Grand Jatte. The camera did a series of increasing close-ups on Cameron's face and the painting, showing the blankness of his life. It caused me to think about the blankness in my life, and I began to change it then by living life to its fullest.

Didn't he direct "Sixteen Candles"? "Pretty in Pink was my fav, especially the scene where Ducky dances to "Have a Little Tenderness" in the record store.
