Thanks, Had nice visit with parents

Hi all,

Thanks for the positive thoughts. I had a nice visit with my parents. My father even called Mitch son, I almost passed out.

We chatted a lot about their lives and their friends. They didn't seem any different than on other visits other than having to rest for 2 hours during the middle of the day.

They are old, so like with all elderly people, I guess they could pass on unexpectedly, but my brother had me thinking Mom was going downhill fast. She is weak.

We had an interesting conversation. Things got a bit tense when Dad asked us when we were going to find women and get married. I think he fades in and out a bit. But, we just kind of joked about it and moved the conversation on.

I am glad your visit went well. Sometimes even bad situations like your mothers illness brings some blessings. Their kindness to you and Mitch, I am sure, meant a lot to you. I think some of the older Witnesses realize they don't have much time left and they better put aside their differences with their children.

Two years ago, my wife's younger sister died, which was very sad. Zazu's much older father was very nice to Zazu and I through several days of our visit. No preaching, just sharing memories.

That's nice to hear. I hope your mom is feeling ok. And the fact that your dad said something about you and mitch just may be his senility popping in here and there.

His saying "Son" to Mitch was quite a nice gesture, kind of heartwarming on a cold day like this.
