"Thank you for that.. I'm only 17 and left JWs recently after being raised in it. Hardest thing I've ever done, leaving all my friends and family, so I strongly sympathise with you. I feel very lucky to be able to see JWs for what it really is, and have the opportunity to start really living my life. I'm grateful for every witness that is able to see past the lies that are there to make you a closed minded follower."

That alone is reason enough. This young person has their life back thanks to the accurate information they found online. Whats being done on these sites is absolutely life-saving and worth every effort. I'd like to also add my thanks to Frank, Randy, Simon, Rick etc, and all who take the time to blog their experience and knowledge of the Org for the benefit of others.

I recently had a young bible study who thanked me for directing them to AJWRB. After he read that site and asked some pertinent questions of his study conductor he stopped his study. He's now read much more about JW's and feels he had a very narrow escape with a cult.

The louder and more focussed our collective voice is, the more people will wake up - and thats gotta be a good thing.

Great news! It's so good that the young adults who are leaving have the information available here and at Free Minds so they can really get free.

it's great news, it's never addressed by the WTS the actual amount that do leave, it must be close to the million mark if not more say over a 30 year period, for me discovering the works of Ray Franz,Freeminds,JWD, are all huge tools in bringing folks out of the lie, young and old are leaving, so from me too a big Thank you , everyone to the main authors who put in hard work and money to the token anonymous poster who says a few quiet words , it's all worth it, the WTS is being stunned by the electronic age!

I think people bother to be ex-JWs because they have been and continue to be negatively affected by the Watchtower. Anything that can educate people on the truth about this organization to save them from the damage and scars the WTS inflicts is a good thing. Keep it up, gang!

This board was the first place that I heard some of the questions that I had silenced in my head all my life being boldly asked out loud. The joy and relief I felt that there were many, many others asking the same questions was tremendous. We all need help getting out of this cult. This board is here to be a moral support to those mustering up the courage to leave. We will probably never know how many people it touches and starts their critical thinking process going. All of the voices add up to one big shout! As Jookbeard said above, it is very well worth the effort for all who spend so much time commenting so articulately and frequently (I've tried - it ain't easy) to those who comment only occasionally. It is all part of the rescue effort, easily available to anyone with a computer.

That is why we bother - and thanks so much to all who contribute!
