Christ's Sacrifice: His "will" vs. God's "will"

To the Household of God, Israel, and those who go with... may you have peace!

On many occasions I have observed folks contemplating my Lord's words recorded at Matthew 26:39 (Luke 22:42). Many, including some here, have pondered these verses and asked are they not contradictory of Christ's willingness to sacrifice his life on behalf of earthling man? Wasn’t Christ’s will the same as God’s and, if so, why does this verse seem to indicate there was some difference?

I was recently given understanding, dear ones, as to why my Lord spoke those words and will share that with you, just as I received it from him. Please note, as it always occurs I did not ask for this understanding so I have no reason to fabricate it for you. This, as well as whatever else I have received and share with you over the years, comes, as I understand it from my Lord, for doing the work he assigns me: he gives me understanding, I share it with whomever I am directed to, including those here, and then additional revelations are granted. As always, I profess to you that this truth is not mine, but is what I have received from the Truth, the Holy One of Israel, JAHESHUA MISCHAJAH, Son and Christ, of the Most Holy One of Israel, JAH of Armies. My understanding is that I am to share it, as well as all that I share, to put to a final rest certain and great misunderstandings, false assumptions, and outright lies associated with this and other events… for those who wish it and are seeking such finalizations. To such ones I say, may you hear and get the sense of it!

To understand the emotion and purpose behind my Lord’s words, “My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass away from me. Yet, not as I will, but as you will,” we have to understand how the choice for him to give himself as sacrifice actually came about. Until now, the understanding has been that my Lord offered himself as that sacrifice. While that is true, that is not entirely accurate. It is true that he ultimately AGREED on being the sacrifice; however, it was not he who initiated the offer as we have often been misled to believe. Rather, it was Death who initiated the need by demanding the ransom for earthling man (Adham’s offspring) and our Heavenly Father who conceded His Son as the price that would be paid. The TRUTH is that our Lord was not even initially aware (albeit, briefly) that it was he that would be offered. He did not initially know that a sacrifice of such magnitude was required. To help me (and now you) understand this, the words of my Lord to me were “Look to the sacrifice of Isaac.” He then took me, in spirit (and thus, I was “inspired” or “in the spirit”) to that event which I was allowed to see unfold before my [spiritual] eyes.

If you recall, when the Most Holy One of Israel, JAH, asked Abraham to sacrifice his only-begotten son (by the free woman, Sarah – Abraham had other sons, by Sarah’s slave, Hagar, and, after Sarah’s death, by Ketourah), Isaac, the young man Isaac was not aware of his father’s agreement. Rather, he just readily agreed to accompany Abraham up the mountain to make [a] sacrifice, and one he thought would be done with a sheep. It was not until they left the attendants and traveled on alone together that Isaac even began to wonder what was to be sacrificed. After awhile, Isaac asked, “Where is the sheep for the burnt offering?” Abraham never told him that he was to be the sacrifice, but simply responded “God will provide himself the sheep for the burnt offering.” And that is the beginning of the remarkable events that took place: Isaac did not question Abraham further but simply trusted Abraham’s words so implicitly that he continued on with his father. He trusted Abraham… because he LOVED Abraham!

And so it is what happens here and next that helps us understand the TRUE nature of my Lord’s sacrifice. Of course, many think (and what theological scholar… or self-proclaimed “expert” hasn’t commented that) there are only two (2) more events which occur that are remarkable: (1) the demonstration of Abraham’s faith by his willingness to offer up his son, and (2) God’s reciprocal faith by intervening when Abraham bound Isaac and then held up the knife to sacrifice him. While those things are indeed noteworthy, it is a third, however, and even more remarkable part that my Lord wanted me (and you) to understand: it is Isaac’s willingness to BE sacrificed, even though he hadn’t actually planned on doing so! THIS is the point of this post and the issue my Lord wishes to be understood: he did not “offer” himself “willingly” BEFORE the need was made known to him (“Here, Father, let me go down there and give myself for them.”) The TRUTH is that he offered himself… and did so willingly… ONCE IT WAS MADE KNOWN TO HIM THAT A SACRIFICE WAS NEEDED AND HE WAS TO BE IT!

But even MORE remarkable is why he did so: NOT, as so many have misleadingly taught, because he loved us… although this indeed plays a part… but because, like Isaac, HE LOVED AND TRUSTED HIS FATHER!

Dear ones, it is GOD who loved us SO much… that HE gave His only-begotten Son. However, the Son loved the FATHER so much… and trusted that the Father loved him and, like Isaac, would NOT let him “see death” eternally… that he willingly did what the FATHER asked of him! Psalm 16:10

And that is the reason for the words, “Yet, not MY will, but YOUR will.” It was NOT our Lord’s will to die. Not at all. Unlike Adam, HE did not want to know good (life) AND bad (death). However, he trusted our Heavenly Father, the Most Holy One of Israel, JAH of Armies, that it HAD to be this way… and so offered himself willingly. Because HE loved the Father… and the FATHER… loves us. He loves us… because the Father loves us! John 17:6

Thus, Paul admonished that “neither death nor life nor angels nor governments nor things now here nor things to come nor power nor height nor depth nor any other creation will be able to separate us from GOD’S LOVE… that is IN Christ, JAHESHUA, our Lord.” Romans 8:37-39 The Holy One of Israel, JAHESHUA MISCHAJAH, the Son and Christ of the MOST Holy One of Israel, whose name is JAH of Armies… loves US, dear ones, AND GAVE HIS LIFE… because GOD, the Most Holy One of Israel, loves us. He does what he observes the FATHER doing. And so, “we ourselves have come to KNOW and have BELIEVED the love that GOD has in our case. God IS love, and he that remain in LOVE… remains in union with GOD… and God REMAINS IN UNION WITH HIM. We love… because HE first loved US.” 1 John 4:16, 18

Do not misunderstand: our Lord does indeed love us. No one has greater love than to give his life in behalf of his friends (whic is why the WTBTS' teaching on giving blood is a LIE - the life... is IN the blood! I digress...). And he gave his life for us. But he did that because of his love for our Heavenly Father FIRST, and then because that One loves us, so that he, our Lord, too, loves us.

And that is why he was able to say, “If it is possible (i.e., if there is ANY other way for me to show my love for YOU… and for these) let this cup pass away from me. Yet, not as I will, but as you will (i.e., but if this is YOUR will, then let it be done just so).

I am not sure for you, but for me, this makes his sacrifice even that more amazing and poignant. He gave his life for me… because he loved someonenot me, but who loved me. And he came to love me… because that someone loves me. How many of us want others to love those we love? Isn’t that the ultimate “gift”… exceeded only by giving such one(s) life? And he’s done that, too!

I do not share this with you to raise the love Christ above the love of God. It is God we must worship; however, it is His SON… the Greater Joseph, that we must KISS… and now we have even more reason to do so! Psalm 2:12

May those asking and seeking have ears to hear… this truth… and the Spirit and the Bride who KEEP saying, “Come! Anyone thirsting and anyone who wishes… come!... take LIFE’S WATER, the holy spirit from God, which issues forth from the cistern that is my Lord… FREE!” John 7:37-39; 4:14

May the undeserved kindness, mercy, and LOVE of my God and Father, the Most Holy One of Israel, whose name is JAH of Armies, and the peace and LOVE of His Son and Christ, my Lord, JAHESHUA MISCHAJAH, be upon you… and your entire household… if you so wish it.

Servant to the Household of God, Israel, and all those who go with, and a slave of Christ, to time indefinite,

AGuest, and isn't this the reason the Christ himself said at John 8:42:

Jesus said to them: “If God were YOUR Father, YOU would love me, for from God I came forth and am here. Neither have I come of my own initiative at all, but that One sent me forth.—John 8

Your words remind me of some of my favourite verses from Job 13:15-16:

Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him.
Even so, I will defend my own ways before Him.

He also shall be my salvation,
For a hypocrite could not come before Him.

Praise God that you are such a blessing to this place and thank you Shelby for being so willing to share with all

Thank you, dear Inkie (and may you have peace!), for the corroborating verse!

Thank you, too, dear Emo, for your kind words, but truly I have no choice. It is what I would want you to do for me (and I am sure you would!)!

    May JAH bless you both!

Your servant and a slave of Christ,

    SA
