Well, it's been a shocking turn of events around here... Her MS husband just got publicly reproved and she's been out partying a lot without him. And I mean going to clubs to dance with other evidently not so "spiritual" JWs... I don't really know what's going on with her. Not sure what her motive is - depression, wanting to just live a life, or avoidance of what's happening???

It's to bad that those who are so self-righteous fall of there plateau... Actually, maybe not. Maybe she's going to get an amazing wake-up call. I hope so... I just hope she doesn't really screw up her life in the process...

What are your thoughts?

The few jws like that that i knew were true believers. In other words, they did a big bad nono, got gffed, but they still supported the wt system 100%. The guilt they felt, it seemed that they were trying to make up for it by being more projw than the average jw.

All that stuff is repressed but not dealt with as a JW. As Jesus says, you must be born again John 3:3 and Peter 1 Peter 1:23

Paul calls those born again a new creation 2 Corinthians 5:17 Galatians 6:15

"The flesh" is the sinful nature and no-one is able to change us from that save being born again and the Holy Spirit living inside.

JWs "try hard to be good" but the fleshly nature comes out in thought, words and action.

Just hazarding a guess. He got publicly reproved and she steps out without him.
He cheated on her and the elders stuck their noses in too far and "encouraged" her to forgive him because he is repentant.

While she hasn't left him, she hasn't really forgiven him.

Offer to "be there" for your sister.

OTWO - It's not that. She made it clear that it has nothing to do with there marriage and doesn't even seem to know all the details. She did state that she couldn't believe and didn't ever think somebody would ever form a JC over whatever it was...

I think the elders were looking for something... Not sure though...

I think OTWO is correct-be there for your sister. A true sibling relationship is not worth losing over the JWs if you can help it. I have a sister, I know.

Yep, that's shocking. I don't know what to think. I'd guess that something with business/work got BIL in trouble. Maybe bookkeeping, or involvement with government contracts or work on church property. And now that Sis doesn't have to be the proper MS wife, she's starting to do the things she wants to do. Did she marry young and do all the spiritual things so that now she's pursuing her lost youthful independence?
