Hello,
Just wanted to let everyone know that we had a great Christmas. My husband allowed my mother to come to our house over the holidays, and she was fine until Christmas day. We got invited over to my non-witness family's house for dinner, and my mother initially accepted the invitation, however, when it was time for us to depart, she indicated she was sick and decided not to go. My husband said that her "JW Christmas File" kicked in. But as he aptly put it "some of her files are still corrupt". All in all, we had a good visit though.
An interesting situation happened to me today. I used to work for a company that employed about 30+ JW's of which many are still there. I always kept in touch with the non-JW co-workers, and when I left, I began sending them birthday wishes and holiday greetings. Anyway, one of them must have mentioned this to this flakey JW that hangs out with them on occasion because I received the following email from her today:
"I heard some disturbing news about you and your husband.
I was told that you both now celebrate xmas and birthdays.
Please respond. :o( "
Who in the "H E double toothpicks" does she think she is? She is just shy of being DF'd herself. My husband kept telling me not to keep in touch with the JW's, but she had my email address because my old co-workers had me on their mailing list and she could see my address. Every now and again I would include her on my email trash route. Should I have cut ties with the co-workers to keep from being found out, or is it right for me to have lived my life at whatever cost?
Another interesting thing happened to me at my office Christmas party several weeks ago. A lady that sat at my table swore that I looked familiar. I tried to play dumb when she asked me if I knew this one sister. Then she asked me if I "used to worship at the Kingdom Hall". I almost fell out of my chair. I just indicated it was a "past life". Should I have done that or just said she had me mixed up with someone else? She did not recognize my husband at all and he's the one that's well known (ex-bethelite, elder, etc.) She probably thought I had a new man or something. I think she was someone's study though. She is NOT a JW. But one thing I can say, she did not know how to respond to me for the rest of the evening.
I hope to be posting here more frequently. I'm at that point in my life where I really need a listening ear. I guess we all go through different phases at different times. I've been out of the JW prison system for about four years now.
