Does that mean that this particular Doomsday cult has existed for 2000 years?

Just because they claim it doesn't make it true, but they think it sounds good. If I remember correctly, they claim that Abel was the first JW. Of course, as always, they have nothing to prove this or any other belief.

Yes ... and Abel was the first catholic, he was also a protestant but that did not help much.

No I think they were just imaginative inventors on what their god would do for them
just like the early 1st. century Christians had done,
the only difference is the modern JWS turned their beliefs into a business empire. $$$
