in accordance with the fine example given by our lord jesus, from the 1.1.10 there will be a new aspect to the meetings. This will be following in the footsteps of Christ as he washed the feet of his disciples, what a loving lesson in humility!

We do well to follow this example and therefore after the opening prayer of every meeting 4 brothers will be assigned the priviage of washing the feet of our dear brothers and sisters. This will also include a the rubbing of mositerising cream in to the feet, after all did not our lord have his feet anoited with perfumed oil? however since there is no mention of women having their feet anoited in perfumed oil they will only have E45 cream instead.

What encourging humility this will provide to us all! CO's will have the option of a pedicure in keeping with their full time extra service to our lord as this time of the end draws near.

Are we not gratefull brothers for this fine provision to assit us in our ministry?!

Sisters in good standing will be invited to wash the elders feet with their tears and dry them with their hair. The regular foot washing will be performed by young ministerial servents eager to look up the sisters' skirts.

Actually, Seventh Day Adventists actually perform a similar ceremony several times a year that is quite similar!! There is a foot washing ceremony performed right before the taking of the emblems a few times of the year. Men wash mens feet, women wash womens, and married couples are allowed to wash each others. They do it because that is what was done during the night with Jesus, and yes it is a sign of humility.

When I heard of this "ritual" I immediately thought they were just as crazy as the JW's and stopped researching them. That, and the fact that they had a booth set up at our local Fair with all kinds of colour "tracts and brochures" talking about the end of the world, UN, and other such crap what was eerily similar to the JW propoganda. Hell, I just don't know why they don't combine and be done with it. At least SDA's ENCOURAGE education though. They are kind of like a JW-light....being able to celebrate all of the Holidays and such.

The foot thing was too much....really weird IMHO.

    maundy thursday, the night before
good friday, at least in the catholic
    church (born-in) there was always
a ritualistic washing of the feet...

havent been inside a catholic church
    since the assassination attempt on
john paul II, so i dont know if they
wash women's feet now, or if they
    even still have the ritual....
