The God of King David certainly sounds like the description of the Dragon, does it not?

    2 Samuel 22:

7In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried to my God: and he did hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry did enter into his ears.

8 Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations of heaven moved and shook, because he was wroth.

9 There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it.

10 He bowed the heavens also, and came down; and darkness was under his feet.

11 And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: and he was seen upon the wings of the wind.

12 And he made darkness pavilions round about him, dark waters, and thick clouds of the skies.

13 Through the brightness before him were coals of fire kindled.

Did King David serve the Dragon?

(Psalms 18:6-13 repeat the same words as above.)

Hmm. Keep in mind that some of the 'incidents' in the Bible - the story of Moses receiving the Ten Commandments from a mountain that 'smoked and roared' - are based on volcanic eruptions. The 'Golan Heights' in the general vicinity of modern-day Israel and Jordan are filled with Holocene-era volcanoes, active within the last 10,000 years or less. That description of the 'dragon' sounds a bit like a description of a volcanic eruption - or it could also indicate Far Eastern influences flowing into the area, though - if I remember correctly - Chinese dragons were more frequently associated with weather [or earthquakes] than volcanic eruptions...

Lots of Psalms carry forward older polytheistic memories; hard to shake the old songs, right?

Pistoff: "hard to shake the old songs, right?"

    Yeah, I always liked Puff.

Brought him string and sealing wax, and other fancy stuff.
