Some christians currently admit that many of accounts of the first books of the Bible do not tell true histories. However, to save the value of the Bible they argue that these stories have to be understood as allegories. Of course, they try to distract us by saying we should concentrate us in the New Testament. However, this is not what the NT teaches. Let us read some examples:

13For it was Adam who was first created, and then Eve. 14And it was not Adam who was deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell into transgression. (1 Timothy 2:13-14)

If Paul did not write the above words, it was one of his disciples. Whatever, the pauline school (under the holy spirit) thought that Adam and Eve existed as told by the book of Genesis. However, scientific facts have proven that well before Adam and Eve there were already men and women. It is clear that the pauline school was misled by the holy spirit, because they believed in a tale.

Let's read another one of the pauline circle:

30 By faith the walls of Jericho fell, after the army had marched around them for seven days. (Hebrews 11:30)

The archaeologist Kathleen Kenyon, without any holy spirit, discovered that Jericho was destroyed one century before Joshua (according to the Bible) went to that city. So, we can see that the author of this letter believed in that false history.

Accordingly, the following are the most deceiving words ever uttered (by the false author of the fourth Gospel):

But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.(John 16:13)

Can't speak for the Apostle Paul, but for a while now, I've felt that Jesus' references to Genesis actually could be used to support the allegory/parable assertion...

...being as how Jesus taught almost exclusively through the use of allegories and parables.

    Just sayin'.
