Recently spoke to a 72 yr-old, who has been jw for around 2oyrs.

He was telling me how well he was doing in field-misery sorry ministry, how many return-visits he had and how he leaves the mags in old peoples homes, and "witnesses" to the pensioners there.

Then he went on to tell me that Jehovah had really BLESSED him financialy with a fantastic pension from his previous employers!! The only problem being he took early retirement before he became a jw from the company.

Does Jehovah reward his people with financial wealth?
IF HE DOES, I WAS ROBBED BY MY LOCAL NEWSAGENT WHEN I HAD A PAPER ROUND AGED 14 !!My wages being 4 pounds per week!!(then again i was,nt classed as "spiritual enough")
I knew i should have wore my shoes out in field misery rather than deliver newspapers when i was young!!

ack ... I know the 'joy' of doing a paper-round.

It's criminal the jobs they gave to us kids ... we should have been put up chimneys or something instead

    Blackcat,

I too spoke with an 'active' sister of similar age. I told her that i was no longer attending meetings, and much to my surprise and sorrow she replied simply that "It's too late for me to leave"

She is a truly lovely person with a very active mind. I have to say that I do admire the elderly ones that are so loyal. I found the meetings and FS physically tiring, how much more so must they, who are so old and frail.
