Three's Company

I was watching reruns of "Three's Company" and was telling the wife how much I liked it as a teenager. I thought John Ritter was a brilliant comedic actor. My wife watched and said, "It was such an innocent show."

It wasn't until later that I realized why she said that. Remember, at one time, this was a program that was viewed as extremely bad by JWs. She must have grown up with that thought and then, after actually watching, realized how silly that was.

Remember the tv show "Soap" and how racy it was supposed to be and it only came on after 9pm. Watch it now and it's fairly tame compared to what's on at 8 pm on network tv.

JimmyPage.....Oh yes, that was banned by my mom because of its "adult" themes, LOL. Yet I did watch any of the soaps she watched in the afternoon.

    JP,

This thread brought back some memories! My JW mom complained about Three's company for years and what a horrible influence it was on the "youth" . Once in a while she still brings it up along with her other demon inspired program the 50's show with Fonzi. Can't remember the name of that one.

I wound up sharing a large 2 story home with another girl and a guy just like that show when I was about 18. We became the best of friends. The rent was $110.00 a month. We all had our own lives, but watched out for each other. A very innocent arrangement.

    r.

And yet it was in most respects VERY JW - the randy John Tripper guy was practically a celibate, but always looking at the girls, and yet never getting any!

I remember a P.O. giving a service meeting part where he said he didn't know what "Dirty Dancing" was all about but he figured it wasn't about dancing normally without showering after work. He didn't say "You should avoid such a movie" but he certainly implied such.

I remember a district convention where these song lyrics were quoted incorrectly:

"Turn the radio up/ For that sweet sound/ Hold me close/ Never let me go/ Keep this feeling alive/ Make me lose self-control"
