The only kind of alcohol allowed to drink as a JW is wine. Jesus did not turn water into beer, whiskey, vodka, rum or moonshine. How many JWs do you think will leave now? Prob none. There will just be more hypocrites and liars that think it is okay to hide what you do instead of leave the org.

My Dad would be annoyed if beer wasn't allowed.
Booze is the only thing keeping that cult alive. Take that away and everyone would leave - love for jehover has nothing to do with it.
Far too many people at Bethel are alcoholics. The place would have to shut down due to so many people going into withdrawal.
That's probably the only new light that would cause a mass exodus. Most elders I know are closet alcoholics. We found out a couple years ago that my JW pioneer brother-in-law keeps a scotch bottle under his bathroom sink. He must be pretty bad off if he couldn't use the bathroom without taking a drink. This is the guy who always tries to tell us how happy he is in Jehovah's organization.
