I remember this problem when I used to be a witless. It would come up every year, around December. I would hear Christmas music at work, and have to worry that it was part of celebrating Christmas. Drowning it out works to a degree, but after hearing Hey Santa so many times at work, it could still pop up later (even in February or March). And that was before the days of the iPods--working with music from the 1970s and 1980s helped to a degree.
Now, I don't mind the Christmas songs (in fact, many of them are actually enjoyable). To me, if a Kingdumb malady gets stuck in my head, I view it as a symptom that I have been to a boasting session too recently, and it will fade in time. And, now that there is a new book out, it is an opportunity to get a clean slate--I have not heard even a note of the 42 new Kingdumb maladies or the altered versions of the other 93. And, if you are still getting Kingdumb Maladies stuck, you might be able to find Christmas songs that will take the load (some are surprisingly similar). If you have recently walked out and still have a ton of Kingdumb maladies, it is going to take a while.
The good news is, if you just walked out, the Kingdumb maladies will generally die off in three days if you find a new type of music you like. It will never be totally gone, however--just greatly reduced in intensity and frequency. If this is happening in the middle of the night, chances are your brain is busy processing the trash. I suggest letting it do its job at those hours (unless it prevents you from getting back to sleep). However, at other times, you might need to invest in a small radio with a MP3 player.
