If a person is born a luthern and then is baptized a christion. Then he or she becomes a JW and is then baptized a JW. Does is not mean he or she has daul religion. It would seem that in order to become a true JW he or she would have to become unbaptized a christion if possable?.

I've heard that you have to write the church you used to go to and have the letter say something about you don't want to be recognized as a (lutheren, catholic, etc) and that you are now a JW. I could be wrong but that's what I've heard...

You mean part of 2? dual?
The society (that being the WTBTS) would imply/say outright that your baptism into that faith meant nothing as it was done without true knowledge. Your baptism as a JW would rather count and by showing your baptism you'd be making a public declaration of your faith now.
I'm sure there is a watchtower out there that would explain it.

The Lutheran Church my husband's family does not have a lifetime membership arrangment. You have to pay the annual fee to the national church and attend so many times a month. The local church does not want to be responsible for the annual fee for people who do not attend. They take them off the membership roll, no letter from the person required.
