According to Mak 6v 3 Jesus had 4 brothers and also Sisters.
Mary was a virgin when she got pregnent with Jesus. She must have been very young. Her husband Joseph was a carpenter and carpenters were due to the nature of their profession away from home for long periods .
So what is my point. Iam not sure I have a point. It just was something that occurd to me as I read the bible without Watchtower Tinted Glasses.
Any comments to help with my independent thinking?

All I know is she told her fiancé that she was going out of town to visit her relatives for two months and when she got back she was knocked up.
If anyone believes in Mary, Jesus and Joseph, they may as well believe in the Easter Bunny, Santa Claus, etc. Oh wait.....
I never could understand the importance of a virgin birth, I mean, lots of girls who are pregnant claim to be virgins.
So when Mary claims to be a virgin everyone just says "OK, WOW, this must be gods son couse that girl is a virgin", and everyone just took her word for it?
There was no way for her to prove it, so claiming it meant nothing in my opinnion, just another scared girl trying to get out of trouble.

Usually she is considered to be around 16ish yrs old. Nothing unusual back then, considering you could be dead by 40 or earlier.

First time I heard its the "nature of a carpenters profession" takes them away from home for long periods.
Why don't you think Joseph worked from home, as many such professions did back then. He may have worked on a local building project. But most men back then usually worked locally. Even if he worked in Jerusalem it was only 6 miles away,.
If Joseph worked away from home for long periods, how would Mary have coped about money etc.
