are there any functioning JW only forums on the net? I have come across some but they either dont work or appear to have ceased transmission! Like nobldy has posted for a few months.

Here's the deal with pro-JW forums. As you may have been aware of, the Filthful and Disgraceful Slavebugger does not like them. The ones that are faithful to the witlesses probably have taken their forums down (or got hounded to). Others, like this one, started pro-JW and turned into a free discussion forum for the religion (and mostly apostate).
If someone took down the forum, it will not work (even if the forum is still visible, you will not be able to sign up or post there). The link will eventually be broken because it will not be renewed, and then the forum is dead. They also have relatively few posts because the Filthful and Disgraceful Slavebugger doesn't like active witlesses on any of those forums, even pro-JW forums (because of how easily they transition to apostate forums).
