I knew this was going on a while back but I had this from JWs today (I faded). Forgive the formatting - it doesn't seem to work when I post using my phone. Anyway... If the ban happens, does that mean JWs didn't pray hard enough!? LOL. I don't agree with beatings, but I would love to see a victory for reason and a ban for JWs. Date: Friday, November 27, 2009, 11:39 AMIt was announced today at Bethel that on December 8, the Russian Supreme Court will have a hearing on the following charges of Jehovah's Witnesses. Publications that are found to be of "extremist" content (1) My Book of Bible Stories(2) What Does the Bible Teach(3) Draw Close to Jehovah It was mentioned from the table the need for all of Jehovah's people to pray that this ruling will be overthrown. If the Supreme Court wins this case it would mean: (1) The liquidation of the Branch Facility(2) Meetings would cease(3) Publication printing would cease(4) Literature distribution would cease(5) Preaching work would cease Presently, our dear brothers have been putting up with Conventions being detained or canceled, disruptions of meetings, beatings of brothers, detaining of lit. at the Russian Border and a host of other persecutions. We were asked to please send up your prays so that the court ruling has no success. http://www.jw-media.org/rus/20091118.htm

    Interesting case to follow.

In this video, one Russian religious law expert says however that 'it's hard to prove what current law they're breaking'.
