...to make donations to both local and national charities in the spirit of Christmas and all. So that's what I did. I don't know about different locations, but in ours the charities will ask the local grocers and banks to collect for them and give the donor a little something in return. Most often this is little more than a decorative slip of paper that is displayed with the donor's name on sort of a wall of fame by the entry way. So, when I donated I chose to do so in someone else's name, that being the local congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. It was the best dollar I spent all week and I think I'm going to do a few more. Wouldn't it be great if one of the elders saw a dozen or two of those in the grocery store? Indeed, it is the little things in life!

Think I'll make a donation to the local Gay and Lesbian organization, they send a card thanking the donor. Great idea!

Absolutely BRILLIANT!!! Imagine the local cong stepping all over themselves trying to deny having made such a donation, if they were to get a subsequent thank you for the donation or a charitable donation tax receipt!
This has to be voted BEST APOSTATE IDEA that I've seen in a long time. Thanks for sharing!
