I'm pretty much convinced now that the so-called "Apostates" are true believers

Or were. I suspect the same enthusiasm which drives the zealous adherent is the same fire which fuels his/her engine to leave.

I don't think anything is that black or white.

The thought has occurred to me that if the WTS wasn't so bent on being "RIGHT", that maybe more people would forgive them for the times that they are wrong. We were conditioned to feel that we had the Truth About Everything, and so when we discovered that we didn't, some of us weren't willing to overlook it - per our conditioning.

(just in case some might not know what constitutes an argument)

...and with my 100th post on JWN I was able to have a bit of fun with Monty Python.

    Thanks, gubberningbody!

I think apostates are more in the real truth than active witlesses. Apostates have to deal with widely varying beliefs from other apostates--some Christian or Muslim, some atheist, some Satanist--and still have to survive as a group without totally disintegrating. They also have to deal with anyone that can post something, with links to the source, from any source. From what I understand, the real truth should be able to hold up under this pressure.

On the other hand, the witlesses only have to stand up to whatever the Filthful and Disgraceful Slavebugger wants them to know. And still they fall out.
