if i had been there, i would have been 100% sure i had seen a UFO, as in green men. i can understand how the UFO stories are born...

I just find it a little too coincidental that the US president was in Norway at the time... something about a Peace Prize?? I dont know, it's late here, and my brain is just not functioning well tonight- maybe the strange lights have caused it

Moscow just confirmed they had failed missile launch from a submarine in the area.

Actually not untypical for a launch failure. When the stabilization goes out the missled spins. The best guess is that it was losing fuel as it spun, which was then illuminated by the engine exhaust as the missle spun. This one was more easily seen because it was high up and at night. The Russians have had something like seven failures in twelve launches.
Here is video of a daytime launch of a us missile that did the much the same thing, although the launch was aborted faster.
