Oh, the soar feet from dancing in high heels that looked better with that guys legs than they did on you before you traded, being a 17yr old girl and getting great makeup tips from a man in his late 50's, the fantastic music and food, actually feeling comfortable with the people your with all night... I havent been to a PFLAG party in a long time... damn they were fun !!!
Hope you had as good a night as remembered them being Chickpea. you'll need plenty of this in the morning
t'was a little more sedate than that
( ok, a LOT more sedate) but it lent
tremendous insight into the isolation
the queer community endures in rural
areas... especially on the two reservations
that are in our area....
met some new people, a couple that has
been together for 41 years, also a straight
couple whose DIL came out just about a
year ago, and hearing how this extended
family is supporting that emerging dynamic
i will tell you one thing.... there were
SIX THOUSAND lights on that house.....
I live in a pretty rural area in OZ, and the last do I went to, was an xmas in july party... we had a fashion parade, karaoke, lucky door prizes ( I ened up with a bulldog toilet brush holder), and a lovely young main dressed as a fairy serving fairy bread to all the kids... I think in total PFLAG raised about $5000 dollars that night for charity... I am just sad that my friends who used to take me to them moved...
I'm so glad you had a great night, and I wish there was more people out there who were more supportive of others... people are people and as I said to the JW lady I used to study with- "it would not be paradice without my Aunty Johnny- so we will just have too agree to disagree on that!"...
Six thousand lights !!! Wow! did you have a pic of it? (no flash needed I bet LOL)...
Merry Christmas Chickpea
Oh, the soar feet from dancing in high heels
