I always thought that taking your kids was just an insurance policy against verbal abuse from householders.
It's a tough call. Personally, I believe that religion (not "spirituality" or "God" - you know the difference) should be kept the hell away from kids until they're old enough to somewhat maturely tackle some of life's tougher subjects (i.e. sex). But that's me. I still have to admit that a kid offering you a fairly inocuous tract is pretty damned cute.
What does the bible tell us?

What's the "law" about Jewish kids under 13 in synagougues?
It must be strange for the homeowner having a seven year old show up being very declarative selling anything except cookies.
