I know there are some here that enjoy this sort of thing so I decided to post this quickly. I thought some might spend more time with it and perhaps report back their stats.

There's a program you can use to analyse texts to see if someone may be lying or not.

Here's the abstract on it's use:

"Telling lies often requires creating a story about an experienceor attitude that does not exist. As a result, false storiesmay be qualitatively different from true stories. The currentproject investigated the features of linguistic style that distinguishbetween true and false stories. In an analysis of five independentsamples, a computer-based text analysis program correctly classifiedliars and truth-tellers at a rate of 67% when the topic wasconstant and a rate of 61% overall. Compared to truth-tellers,liars showed lower cognitive complexity, used fewer self-referencesand other-references, and used more negative emotion words."

The link to the abstract is: http://psp.sagepub.com/cgi/content/abstract/29/5/665

Here's the link to the site which allows you to try it out online: http://www.liwc.net/

I decided to try some text of the Jan WT and see how they scored.

    This is the text:

"Christ is using imperfect humans in the local congregation, particularly
the spiritually older men,the appointed elders. The provision of having such men
appointed is with a view to the readjustment of the holy ones, for the
building up of the body of the Christ.Even if an imperfect human makes a mistake
Jesus as King of the heavenly Kingdom is able to handle the matter in his time and way.
    Do you believe that?"

    This is their score:

    LIWC dimensionYour dataPersonal textsFormal texts
    Self-references (I, me, my)0.0011.44.2
    Social words9.469.58.0
    Positive emotions1.352.72.6
    Negative emotions0.002.61.6
    Overall cognitive words2.707.85.4
    Articles (a, an, the)20.275.07.2
    Big words (> 6 letters)20.2713.119.6

When we compare the WT with personal and formal texts we find two of the three markers for lying.

Would you help me out and try some text yourself and report back here?

I think that a personal letter back from the HQ would be rather revealing.

    Agape!

    :)
