Sometimes when I want to get away from the heavy duty JW stuff, I go to an Ohio and a Michigan discussion board that is easily accessed through webtv. Most of the stuff is fluffy. I brought up the Stratton, Ohio issue. I got several thoughtful posts. All came done on the side of freedom of privacy of the individual in his own home. All posters found the JWs to be an irritant. Cool. I got one response from someone who lives in Stratton. He said the law simply limits the hours of soliciting, primarily for the comfort of a large number of the elderly in that village. That seemed to be the intent from what I read on Mad Apostate's thread.
I wonder why the WT picked on this very small community. They probably thought that they could overwhelm the village with more attorneys and set a precident. Many cities and towns in Ohio have similiar laws and have had for many years.
