So, here we are, first week of the year 2002, would you mind if I ask many of you a question?
Are you feeling good about yourself? Do you feel that you are able to go 'out there' and take on the world? Do you have enough self belief to change old patterns, rejuvenating old ways of doing things into new behaviour patterns? Would you like to accomplish more positive change in your life?
What about your relationships? Has the disfellowshipping experience disabled you psychologically, displaced your emotions, how you relate to others and/or to yourself? Would you like to see how this might be changed given the opportunity to explore the issues through sharing with others?
Would you like to have more confidence in your life, to be able to get what you want out of life? Would you like more self respect? Would you like others to give you more respect? Would you like to define the boundaries of your relationship with yourself and of how others relate to you in person? How might we undo some of the blockages that we impose upon ourselves, given the experiences we have been through?
As a suggestion, if anyone is interested, I am thinking of running an exploratory workshop to understand the lay of the land pertaining to these issues. Such an opportunity shared might give us insight and understanding not just about ourselves but also in how we re-interact with life on the outside/within. And to find simple measures by which we can assist others in working through the same issues.
The Stanton Guildhouse in the Cotswolds UK is a retreat centre run by the Community Action Network, I have been there, and it really is quite a beautiful setting. The retreat is available at greatly subsidised cost for full CAN members and comes complete with full participatory internet suite so that discussions there can interactively be shared internationally.
If any of you would like to participate in this intended confidence gaining forum whether near or afar, would you please state your interest?
In taking initiative towards positive change, a happier new year everyone!!
