Taking Paul’s illustration of the organization as a human body with its great variety of functions, it can readily be appreciated that the head does not do everything, but it does direct. It employs the members of the body to do its bidding. The whole body under the direction of the head moves and acts as a beautifully co-ordinated unit, perfectly organized. In the same way Christ, the Head, employs the organization that is his body to carry out his assigned work. His orders reach the whole of the organization on earth through the governing body, and on down through the Branches to the congregations.—1 Cor. 12:12-18; Matt. 24:45-47.

To hold to the headship of Christ, it is therefore necessary to obey the organization that he is personally directing. Doing what the organization says is to do what he says. Resisting the organization is to resist him. Furthermore, the order of things requires that the men take the lead in being obedient to Christ’s instructions through God’s Word and his organization.

I personally dont see where Paul was talking about a human based organization, the members of the body of christ is all the annointed is it not? (or have they changed that?) The governing body would seem to have little interest in the remnant at all. The few men at the top sure dont represent the whole body, in a way they have actually chopped of most of the body (annointed) below the neck by also telling them what to do and think.

With 50 years of this indoctrination behind them, no wonder they dont think anymore. It's no wonder they are to scared to think. So i conclude that the key to getting others out, or showing them up has to be dismantling this magic link of the 'organization' to the bible.

I see the history of the WTS as a great example of meme evolution. By trial and error the Society has perfected the teaching style so as to have the cake and eat it too. Back in those days they were much more upfront with the teaching, but some people caught up with "don't be followers of men". It got refined much, now you don't see such bold statements; the underlying message is the same, but they dance around the issue saying "follow God, who gives his guidance through His slave", so a JW can say he actually follows God, when in fact it's the commands of men he's following.

They don't talk like this anymore. They know better. But it is still implied, and the old timers esp aren't afraid to say this crap directly.

I don't think it will be long before these sentiments are again written in the Kool-aid edition of the WT, they are getting bolder in the direction they give.

    any thoughts on this bit?

never was the sharpest tool in the shed but i think i understand Pauls illustration ok, and i think the WT has twisted it.
