insignificance and arrogance

This evening the wife and i went for a walk on the beach, something that never fails to make me feel small and insignificant. I stand on the edge of this huge Island called Australia looking out to the curve of the horizon. This is a small planet, floating in its own blue atmosphere, floating in our tiny galaxie, in its own little solar system, in its slightly larger section of the unmeasurable universe.

We are as tiny, even tinier than a fine grain of sand in the universe, we are, essentialy, nothing. A speedy blip on the radar of the cosmos.

YET, we humans think we are oh so important. So vital, so unique. BUT IT GETS WORSE, Christianity, especially the nothing JW movement would have us believe that the very soveriengty of the creator of this endless universe depends on US. The very arrogance of such an idea makes me spit.

I seem to have a bit more liking for the belief systems that link us as a life force or some vague thing to the cosmas than christianity, judaism, islam or anything remotley connected to Abraham.

Christianity, especially the nothing JW movement would have us believe that the very soveriengty of the creator of this endless universe depends on US.

I don't know of ANY Christians who believe that. A lot of ex-witnesses make this mistake because of the twisted way the WT teaches their view regarding the sacrifice of Christ. The WT spin is to say that Christs' dying proved that a man could be faithful to the end and hence there was nothing wrong with the blueprint of man and hence this proves God's right to rule him... or the "right" of God's Sovereignty. This is utter nonsense. Not one scripture supports this.

Neither God, nor his sovereingty depends on anything but his good pleasure:

Yet it pleased the L ORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief : when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin - Is. 53:10

Judgment is a reality after death. Judgment is part of God's Sovereignty. The death of Jesus makes it possible for some to avoid Judgment at the Great White Throne because in this life, they have already declared themselves guilty and agreed to let Jesus take their place for their just and due punishment.

JW's are on an opposite track where they declare themselves "not guilty" now because of their obedience to the Watchtower. Most people in fact, not just JW's view themselves as not guilty.... or basically good.

This is why Jesus said that those who lose their life will find it and those who find their life will lose it.

I, along with countless others, King David of old included, have mirrored your thoughts.

Psalm 8:3-4 I look up at your macro-skies, dark and enormous,
    your handmade sky-jewelry,
Moon and stars mounted in their settings.
Then I look at my micro-self and wonder,
Why do you bother with us?
Why take a second look our way? MSG

very neat video, thanks for posting !

Since the late 1980's I have been looking for a video like this except instead of going all the way out into space only,,,,

the camera went back to earth and went into the hand of a man sitting on a beach.

Then the video went down to the molecular level

    WOW, WOW and double WOW!

While the WT tells us to admire the creator of all this, they wont let us use our logic to see the truth of how noyhing we are.

thankyou Madgiant for that video link
