I actually found all of this pretty fascinating, interesting enough to go to the bookstore and peruse the lengthy book, Bloodline of the Holy Grail: The Hidden Lineage of Jesus Revealed.
It presents a picture where the miracles of Jesus--in fact, most miracles in the Bible--are out of the ordinary, given the socio-religious atmospheres of the times, but not supernatural events. While it was interesting and seemed plausible, I just don't have the time to verify what he says, and I'm not about to buy someone else's interpretations of ancient biblical manuscripts and conclusions about social customs in ancient Israel--been there, done that.
I didn't read the whole book, but let's assume everything he writes is true... Jesus was married to Mary Magdalene and has a line of heirs that can be traced to today (from Israel to France to Scotland). My question is "so what?" He debunks any divinity of Jesus, so that means you've got descendants of an ancient king who have been deposed and robbed of their birthright? Join the club. We can all probably trace our heritage back to someone who ruled something, sometime, but doesn't any more.
Europe's history is nothing but one long political intrigue. Still, I saw a piece about the Knights Templar on PBS or The History Channel a while back, and I'd like to see it again and see if the facts as they present them would fit into this "secret" knowledge just coming out.
All-in-all an interesting read. It ties together just about every secret society in European history--the Knights Templar, Rosicrucians, Masons, Secret College--and every famous person--Leonardo Da Vinci, King Arthur, the US's founding fathers, and PeeWee Herman) into one neat bundle all trying to get one guy (the present-day Count of Albany) the throne that his great-great-great-(infinity)-grandfather (Jesus) lost.
Hmmm
