  Will this Witness throw a murder trial?

  After the trial ended for the day Tuesday, Reese spoke with the attorneys about a potential problem: the only black juror, a female, also is a Jehovah's Witness. Jehovah Witness attend church on Saturdays.

  Reese plans to give the case to the jury no later than Friday morning, but they will be sequestered until a verdict is reached or until the jury cannot make a decision.

  Brener said he would rather wait to see if the jury can reach a decision rather than question the juror about the possibility of her having to deliberate and be sequestered during her faith's church schedule.

  The issue remains undecided.

  Actually my brother's congregation moved their meeting to Saturday morning to avoid a 7 pm Sunday timeslot.

  She just wants out of the jury. If she misses one meeting it is no big deal. Do juries regularly come to a quick decision so they can get off home?

  I suspect she might be a Seventh Day Adventist, and the reporter was typing to fast. Juries are usually pulled from voter registration rolls. I don't think I ever saw a JW called to jury duty.

  I have attended a KH who met on Saturday......

  Florida derives it's jury candidates from the driver's license database.

  Saturday meetings are very popular here in South Florida (think Cubans, Columbians and Venezuelans).

  We have 4 congs in our KH ... we have 2 meetings on Saturday and 2 on Sunday. Last year we had the choice between the early Sunday (10AM) or the early Saturday (4PM) and the Saturday won by about a 60/40 split.

  A lot of people like it because they are already to dressed to go out on Saturday night.

  Juries are usually pulled from voter registration rolls. I don't think I ever saw a JW called to jury duty.

  Depends on where you live. Some states pull from driver license registration.

  I've been called to jury duty more than once when I wasn't registered to vote.
