Can someone tell me how much individual jw's pay for the wt's they are supposed to hand out each month? Pioneer or r & f? I assume the kh covers he cost of the KM? books are extra? set fee across the board or are some more? How is the money handled for this? do they pay the counter guy or is it supposed to go in the collection box? Someone asked and heck if I can remember!

There is no set price, the money goes into the box directly. I vaguely remember some indicative prices being read, but don't know the values.

I wonder how long will they be able to keep this up, especially in this recession. I remember an old pioneer "sister" in the KH that each month carried away a huge stock, she could barely haul it away. She was the kind that practically threw the magazines at people who so much as looked at her from the corner of their eyes. She is old, with low pension, so I doubt her donations were even somewhere close to the actual printing price of the magazines.

When I was pioneering in the 1960's and early 1970's pioneers paid a penny each for the magazines and publishers paid three cents. We offered them for a nickel each or the combined special price of ten cents for both!

As publishers paying three cents and selling them for five we were told to use our profits for expenses. Let's see: sell six magazines in a few hours if one is lucky and make 12 cents profit. Yep that should cover the gas for fifteen miles of driving, dry cleaning for the suits, new soles for the shoes, alright.

There is no value, but they make excellent kindling.

Last price I remember was in the late 80s or early 90s, $.50/set (us dollars).
