I've been getting reports that those elders that have attended the school are very tight lipped about the school when they return. Anyone heard anything on what the big deal is?

I dont know what the reason is for the "tight lips" is, but I did hear that there was a lot of "organizational procedure" stuff that was discussed.
Supposedly there was also a lot of discussion on "looking after the sheep" , but you know what that usually entails.

My PO (Coordinator now) went either last year, or the year before, I can't recall. However, he wouldnt give any details. He's an easy going fellow too, but was tight lipped as you put it. I don't know what road this organization is headed, and his being so secretive regarding the school doesnt give me much confidence. When talk of this "school" first started, it was relayed that POs would attend first, in New York, and lodging arrangements would be arranged in New York. Afterwards, others would attend in NY, and arrangements for lodging in NY would be made. The latest I heard relayed was they would have certain teachers or CO's or whomever come to local Assembly halls and do this school.
Few years ago, Splane was giving a discource at a convention I attended which infuriated me btw. Prior to the comments that irritated me, he mentioned this "school." He made it seem as if this "school" was something so exciting, something to look forward to. Its been so long now, that I'm wondering if this school thing isnt going to happen. Matter fact I had pretty much forgotten about it until I noticed this thread.

Yea my buddy mentioned procedure and "looking after the sheep", as if that even means anything to the governing body. I told my buddy that it's only a matter of time before one of these elders posts to a website. He said he knew that there are elders who post on sites and that the society was also looking into this. I view it as scare tactics.

This must be just in the USA only. There isn't any such school here in the country I'm living in (Pacific Asia region). How about others?

If it is heads-up on something new, then they'd not take so long to get all the elders through it, I wouldn't think.
I've noticed no new procedures around the congregation or circuit. I have noticed a greater attention to "shepherding" by some of the elders. Some folks calls it shepherding, I calls it snooping.

Sounds like nothing has changed since I attended my last 'secret' Elders school in the late 80s.
If the Society ever allows the congregations to sponsor picnics again (pre 71 era ) they will have turned a big corner in socialization. I stopped holding my breath for changes to happen. It was time to move on to more positive things.
