KENNEWICK, Wash.-- We're learning more and more about the Kennewick man arrested for shooting a Washington State trooper.
45-year-old Martin Jones is accused of trying to kill a trooper in Long Beach over the weekend.
Jones grew up in Kennewick and attended Kennewick High school in the early 1980s.
His family didn't want to go on camera, but they said Jones was a bail bondsman in the Tri-Cities for many years and was still active with local Jehovah's Witnesses.
They said he left a few years ago to Couer d'Alene, Idaho, and then to work as a crane operator in Portland.
State troopers are still trying to piece together why he may have tried to kill Trooper Scott Johnson during a traffic stop on Saturday. Yesterday Jones was arrested on assault and attempted murder charges.
His family says they last saw him a week ago and said he was very good and have no idea why he might have been involved.

Uh oh! More bad PR. If they didn't hype themselves up to be the greatest people on the planet, they wouldn't have this kind of attention.

I'm sure if he tells the local elders that he is repentant and puts 10 hours in FS next month........all will be forgiven. Then the whole circuit will have the persecution complex.

My son-in-law is (was) this idiots boss. He said the guy wore his JW affiliation on his sleeve. Self righteous prick, nutjob.

I think there are more crazy-a$$ JW's up in the state of Washington involved in child abuse, murder , wife swapping, you name it - to cover the rest of the 49 states just fine ( from what I've heard and seen- allegedly. ) Insane. Hey Gregor- perhaps your son in law could be a character witness AGAINST this JW . Good grief

I want to make it clear, I may live in the PNW, WA state and more years here as a Jdub than I care to remember but I'm originally from SoCal so all the Twin Peaks persona does not apply. I will admit there is something in the mold here that brings out the crazy in those so inclined.
