.... in silent delight. Now they will listen he thinks silently as he sits staring at the reports of yet another earthquake in just a few weeks. And a tsunami as well.

Theo NoGod walks by and comments about the devastation from this disaster. Christopher feigns deep concern, but deep inside is aware that this means 'it is getting closer'. He silently prays, not for the victims, but for the coming of his Lord. He wonders if he will awake from sleep tomorrow - or will he be 'caught away'. He can barely conceal a glaring grin as the thought crosses his mind. He hopes that people like Theo will 'find the Lord' before it is all over. He can barely wait to meet Jesus. Just like all disasters, this one has him smiling.

Christopher is what we , who are of the slightly more tolerant and enlightened class, call, in our technical jargon, a sh**bag.

    Wobble

    Foggy metaphor I guess.

I got it. It wasn't foggy to me at all. It's just that, if you agree that the end is coming and that these earthquakes "show" how close the "end" is, regardless of religious persuasion, you are gong to get your ass handed to you if you try to make that argument.....

I know. I have been biting my tongue a lot lately on that issue. I have heard it several times in the past few days, and sometimes it is combined with statements like 'and 2012 is just around the corner'.

I think part of it is that man wants to see exciting times, even if that means that god will have to kill billions. Of course it will never include the believer.

Well, when you worship someone who kills billions, including children who are supposed to be evil because their parents never learned "the truth," you have to believe He's omnibenevolent. It's a tough line to walk.
