JWs love their 'persecution' cry. It makes them feel special and proves so much for them.

There is another thread on this. I wasn't sure from the topic title.

I'd like to see more quality cult education literature out there to counter this type of pablum. Seems like cults are not really a part of the public consciousness anymore.

Not that they ever ask me, but my standard answer is that I cannot listen to the cries of persecution from such persecutors. I cannot concern myself with whether those that take away their members personal freedoms lose their corporate freedoms.

Good point, OTWO. It isn't as if the rank and file are being beaten and arrested in Russia. What the Russians are doing is hitting the borg where it hurts, at the corporate/legal level.

Obviously they don't see themselves in the following paragraph.
Second, such words as “dangerous sect,” “enemies of the nation,” and “extremist” have power only as long as people fall under their spell, mindlessly accepting their malicious implications. The tactics of innuendo and slander need not work on
you. We hope that you will make the effort to see through such empty talk.

As always the gov body are very selective in what they say.
I wonder what the Russian people would think of JWs if they new that approx 200000 have died in the last 60 years because of their medical beliefs.
Or how would they feel if they went into the religon then decided it was not right and the rest of their JW family never spoke to them again.
As always there are two sides to every story.
