I think that this subject needs much more research as it could lead to huge breakthroughs in our understanding of how things work. If the placebo effect gets stronger, then medical development may simply halt as the objective basis of any new pill evaporates into statistical noise.

I believe that psychic phenomena is real and that the placebo effect may be part of it. There are weird examples of doctors making remarks about 'use this pill while it still works' as sort of a half serious joke. And there are examples of drugs that were verified as to effect that later seem to have become ineffective generally. Fraud? Bad research? Probably....... but who knows?

There is a debate regarding whether or not Dr's should prescribe medications and treatments that are based on the Placebo Effect.

I say they should. How and why a treatment works is irrelevant. All that matters is whether or not the patient experiences relief.

The vast majority of drugs - more than 90 per cent - only work in 30 or 50 per cent of the people," Dr Roses said.

So God still doesn't have anything to do with it then?

The part I have trouble with is them charging you $110 for the same effect that you could get from a $0.30 box of sugar pills. To sell the placebo effect, but then charge the recipient those kinds of prices - that is a lie and a scam.

Besides, here in america we already have that scam. It's called "alternative medicine".

A placebo cannot get either stronger or weaker, as it is in reality not effective in any conventional way. But hey, if it works for you then keep taking the (sugar) pills.
