One of the mistakes a JW makes

Is thinking that because he or she has not been bested at the door that this is a point in his or her favor that they have the "Truth". What this thinking fails to take into account is that people are self-motivated and unless there is some compelling psychological payoff or some monetary payoff in making the sort of investment required to "defeat" the Witness argument,(Which rarely involves the whole) that they will rarely be engaged except by the few who haven't the mental acumen to understand what constitutes a worthwhile investment.

The JW leaves with unwarranted satisfaction on these occasions imagining that this encounter is one more implicit vote in favor of "the Truth"

The other big mistake is that they listen to the interpretations of the scripture by the WBTS instead of really trying to get a grip of what the scripture is saying...

I.E. "new light", all of the scriptures that are used to describe fulfilled prophecy in the revelation book

JW's as a rule won't stick around long enough to get thrashed. So many times I have been ready to deliver the coup de grace in a discussion, and the JW , seeing imminent defeat declares, " this is not a productive conversation!", and quickly takes off. if I see JW's doing their FS, I pull over around the corner and begin walking back towards them- to have a talk- or I raise the hood and pretend to be working on my truck when they come my way- they just assume I am a householder.

I've seen you post your plug for your book on several threads. Not only are they off topic, they also violate guideline number 6.

I have noticed this trend. The witlesses claim they want to get everyone in the cancer, at any cost. Then, once they find the householder is able to shoot the witlesses' doctrines full of holes, they wuss out immediately.

Your average DumbDub does not even have a grasp of their own doctrines so as to be able to defend them, many of them are not aware of WT teachings on some points at all, e.g "Mediator"

How can you expect them to make a defense ? Like all their Meetings, the TMS and SM are a waste of time as far as equipping them to really proseletyse. the problem is, if the WT ran REAL classes on their doctrines even an idiot with only one sparking brain cell would see they are false.

They need them to believe it is true so they sell the religion and more dollars flow in.

They don't listen so all they hear is blah! blah! blah! and becuase they have quoted a couple of times from the bible, they think they have won the argument.

This is why questions are better than statements when working over a dub. They aren't used to thinking but they are used to tuning out statements. Put it in the form of a question (especially if you can make it sound sincere) and they will be forced to consider the answer, even if just for a moment. Plant that seed. Enough seeds and enough water and something will eventually grow.
