This is the most recent I found in the WTS Index.

    *** dx30-85 Boy Scouts ***

    military purposes: g35 5/22 528, 531

See below (I guess jws never own guns and/or go hunting)

    *** g73 2/22 p. 30 Watching the World ***

    Boy Scouts and Firearms

Boy’sLife, a monthly magazine of the Boy Scouts of America, features 10-percent advertising for firearms and shells. Around Christmastime, the proportion is much greater, because, according to Associate Publisher Edward L. Kern, rifles are a ‘big seasonal selling item.’ December’s issue carried pictures of twenty-six different weapons, each glorifying trigger-pulling. Young boys are told to get their family to buy them a rifle. Fathers are also appealed to; one advertisement reads, "Remember your first 22? Make a kid happy this Christmas." There were also ads for knives that snap open with the flick of a finger, a 24-pound navy cannon replica that "really shoots" and a midget pistol that fires tiny high-compression blanks. Out of twenty-seven ad pages, eight were devoted to lethal weapons and ammunition. Scout officials claim that, since "firearms are here to stay," gun training and safety are important so boys that pick up a rifle will know "which end is which."

Yet they rented a Boy Scounts hall

*** w56 8/1 p. 479 Presidential Visit to Burma, the Philippines and Hong Kong ***For most of the sessions there were between 80 and 100 in attendance, which made it possible to meet many of the brothers and hear of their experiences. Tuesday evening was the climax of the assembly. The public talk was scheduled for 8 p.m. at the Boy Scouts Hall in Kowloon. The publishers and missionaries were busy bringing their friends and gathering up those of good will to hear this important message and all were delighted to have 294 in attendance.

    Thanks Blondie.

That renting of a hall is one I found too.

I assume it must be because of the oath to God and country that makes it a no-no.

Many of the local Boy Scout Chapters are sponsored by churches. That alone would disqualify them for the JW's

I was in the Cub Scouts during the fall of 1972 through the spring of 1974. And there were numerous things that they sponsored that the witlesses would have had a cow about.

First, they have the military salute of the flag. This is where you put your hands above your eyes to salute. They had Christmas crafts and Easter things, too. You had to make a jack o'lantern. On Memorial Day, you had to be in the parade for the town to see. You sang patriotic songs. Some of the meets were in the local church. And, to obtain some of the badges, you have to participate in some religion. Jehovah's Witlesses would not be good enough for that.

Yes, because you'd never catch a WT president doing a thing like that would you?

If someone has access to the Dec 22, 1954 Awake (pg 27)..... there is an article about the Girl Scouts.

Other than that the only other reference to girls scouts is them having the constitutional right to do D2D.....

There is also a boy scout reference in the May 22, 1935 GA.... should anyone have a scan....
