T'was Nisan 14 and all through the Hall
the Witnesses stood in their easter clothes waiting the talk.
With bibles and songbooks now all paperbacks,
anticipating a meal they would not eat, but solemnly pass.
The Pioneers were martyrs who were single beyond their prime
(The local drunk that came with them took a sip of the wine.)
Then came the pitch "Five meetings a week, would you all like to attend?"
The annual memorial visitors had satisfied their guilt,
thinking "I'll be back next year if the world's blood's not spilt."
