I've been lurking here for about a year, I finally made an account a month or so ago. I'm not a witness and have never been one but all of my inlaws are. I really never gave any thought to the WTS until my inlaws started trying to get my three kids to go to meetings with them and told them not to tell me about it which seriously pissed me off. So I started to do a little research and happend upon this forum. Needless to say I forbid my kids to set foot inside a KH. Recently My husband told me that they were trying to talk him into coming back after not going to the KH for 17 years. I must admit I have a LOT of questions that I need answers to if I'm going to keep this cancer out of my family.

    Welcome, welcome, welcome.

Here, you will find the answer to any questions about JW's.

Welcome to JWN, Little Mrs. Curious. I'm not a JW either but I did study when I was a kid as my Mom wanted us to be JWs (because her Dad converted from Catholicism). As a teenager I figured it was bogus and definitely not for me.

I'm glad you've forbidden your kids to go to the Hall. The Jehovah's Witnesses have been identified as a destructive religious cult -- the destructive piece is due to their blood policy/doctrine, pedophile policy, and disfellowshipping and shunning policies (to name the main ones). Mind control is a dangerous thing.

    WELCOME Little Mrs. Curious !!!!

I was a JW for 58 years, and will be pleased to answer any questions you have, I agree with all Heaven says above, JW's are not just destructive in a mild sense either, downright murderous in some circumstances.

I think you are in a unique position to maybe get your inlaws to examine their beliefs and attitudes, you may as well need to firm up your husbands determination to stay well clear.

If you want a discussion with them, JW's, to continue, you must not give the impression you know too much, you can get good guidance on here as to how to frame questions so as to lead them to confront their religion.

On the other hand if you just want them to run a mile we could give you a list of ten or twenty questions, some of which they cannot answer in truth, and they will brand you an "opposer" , fine for you, but your husband may still come under pressure.

Whatever way you play it, ask away here as much as you like,

    kind regards,

    Wobble

Welcome to forum. I was a witness for 42 years and wouldn't recommend any aspect to anyone. You are absolutely right to keep your kids out this this disgusting Cult.

Thank You so much to everyone for such a warm welcome. I'm sure as time goes by I'll have lot's of questions that need answers and I'm so glad that I have found a group that is so well informed. Right now I just point out to my kids all of the unchristian things that are practiced by JW's like the blood issue, and disfellowshiping ect. and that seems to work well. As for my husband he refuses to go to the KH but doesn't see any reason not to let the kids go. I just tell him that I will not let my kids go anyplace that encourages them to distance themselves from friends and family that love them unconditionally. Thank you all again so much.

Maybe you should enlighten your husband about the child molestion problem the Watchtower cult has. Please see silentlambs.org and watchtowerdocuments.com.

    Welcome, btw.
