Even with all the communication gadgets they have, they still say "we miss you"

I was shopping the other day and heard my name called. It's the elder that visited us last year, the one who was very concerned that we celebrated birthdays.

With a guilty expression on his face, he apologised for not having had time to see us then told me "we miss you, when are you coming back?". I said nothing.

I can't stand the phrase "we miss you" - what's wrong with these people? Last time I checked, everyone at the Kingdom Hall had legs, a car, a phone, cellphone and many had access to the internet. Yet, with all these technological devices that make it easier to communicate than ever before, it all comes down to the fact that they are not genuinely interested in their brothers and sisters.

  • OUTLAW
    OUTLAW

Some creatures just like to make noise..

    A dog barks..A crow caw`s..A cow moo`s..

A JW says "We miss you.."

Don`t take it personally..It`s just an animal making noise..

    ..................... ...OUTLAW

    Blondie,

That says it all! We were close to a few in our old hall - went on vacation together, spent time round each others houses, yet it all counts for nothing.

    Outlaw,

    very funny!

truthseeker ----- We absolutely hated that phrase too. In one of our last congos they were VERY needy and if we vacationed (even for a short weekend) when we came back we'd have to stomach, "been missing you" , "were you sick?" It drove us bananas. These people have no life.

At my uncle's funeral last year a few of the sisters made it a point to tell us how much "we all need each other". I was like "really? well if that's the case you wouldn't wait until you 'happen' to see me at a funeral" Not that I really care about them trying to contact me, but come on give me a break.

They don't really miss us they miss how our presence validates their choice to stay on the treadmill.

I kept all my Dub friends on Facebook just so I could observe how much they actually miss me. After the first week of skipping meetings I got a note or two. Once it became clear that I'm "weak" in "the truth":

    NOT

    ONE

    MESSAGE

I would complain but I actually like it that way. Don't bother me and I won't bother you. .

Wow! What timing on this thread. A couple of weeks ago 2 elders from my cong came to visit me, since I haven't been to a meeting in 3 months. One elder I've known for quite some time, and is actually a good person. The other just moved into the territory and I've never met.

To make a long story short, when they asked me why I don't attend anymore, I told them that one of the reasons is because we've been away for so long that we feel awkward going back now and having people tell us how much they miss us.

Well, this elder, that I've never met before says, "they say that because they genuinely miss you". I replied, "yeah right". He then says, "well I miss you, and I'm being genuine".

I wanted to say, "WHAT THE HELL IS YOUR NAME!?!?!?" But I didn't, I just cowardly said thank you.

Their words are so empty and insincere.

They stopped sending messages through my wife, but when they used to say "Tell OTWO we miss him," my wife dutifully carried the message. I told her to carry one back for me (and she says she did). I said, "Tell them to call my cellphone and set up a lunch." I never got a single call on that.

    That is hilarious JWinprotest.

OTWO- same with us. we've heard a couple of times how sad it is that we just stopped going and how everyone misses us............and we've relayed back that we are still in the phonebook .....................

All they miss is the work you were doing. If you were doing something for the congregation, now someone else has to do it--making that much extra work for everyone else. If you were out in field circus, you had been doing some of the work--and now it all falls on everyone else's shoulders. They also miss the money you were donating to the Worldwide Pedophile Defense Fund--no more "When are you going to put that $50,000 into the box?".

I hate it when the witlesses try to speak with me, simply because they are going to pin me down to attending the next boasting session. It's always "We'll see you at the meeting", with no option to not go. And I know it will not stop at one boasting session--after that, it will be "We'll see you at the next meeting". Then "We'll see you at 5:30 AM for street work." And so on. As if I can't get my "spiritual food" right here on this forum--usually even before they get it at the Kingdumb Hell.
