Question: Do you find you are able to watch horror movies now that you are out? I am not, the years of expecting impending doom and persecution has taken its toll too much. I am now unable to emtionaly distence myself from what i see on screen.

    Is this unusual?

When I was an embryo (practically) my mother would take me to horror films.

The very first movie in my life that I remember was at age 4: The Thing from Another World.

It scared the bejezuss out of me!

My mother took me to hundreds of horror films.

When I got older I never missed one.

The first horror film to really scare me (because I was deeply religious and believed there were evil demons) was THE EXORCIST.

Now that I don't believe in all that crap it is extremely difficult to find a scary film anymore.

But, I do love Horror movies.

I know people (like my ex-wife) who never watched horror films. She could not, would not--EVER. Didn't seem to know how to enjoy the thrill of it.

    I pity that.

When brothers at the hall would make stupid remarks about how demonic certain films were (like Rosemary's Baby) I laughed inside and wondered how naive they were. It was so obviously superstitious to think a Hollywood film had anything demonic in it. Actors are egotists and immature but not satanic.

I knew a lot of JW's who secretly attended films that were forbidden. I'd run into them in the lobby and see the expression of "Ohmygod! I'm caught!"

Seems funny now how silly people can be.

    IT'S ONLY A MOVIE!!

Maybe our resident Satanic awareness poster Weeping has something to add to this topic?
