Are people of the 'born-again' religion part of a cult like the JW's?

I have a customer that is a born-again christian. I have to say that I always found these people terrible to deal with as a JW on the ministry.

Obviously now I try to take the woman at face value in a non-judgemental way.

However, having had a few conversations with her I have to say that her outlook & general way of talking is remarkably like that of a JW.

She mentions things like punishment from god a lot. Being victimised by others because she is a christian. Uses expressions like 'this world' as if she isn't a part of it. The devil is mentioned a lot. And sge even mentioned the old situation of not liking those in her congregation but having to 'see the good' in them.

Her whole demenour is like that of a witness.

    So I ask:

Are these people part of a central church/organisation that 'feeds' them with the same sort of bigoted nonsense that the WTS does?

Or are there differances? If so, what?

    Thanks.

    J

    jambon1,

I know somebody who is a born again and she is very much into describing punishment and 'hell'. I like her very much but I have to say there is no chance with her vindictive god.

They are like JWs in that they are constantly preaching, preaching, preaching. Personally, I think all this 'preaching' (in any religion) is just plain unnatural. It is insanity to think that human beings are supposed to go walking around constantly doing this - even if they didn't have to do other practical things like working, cleaning and shopping.

As far as them being a 'cult' they are too vaguely defined to be a cult in my opinion. Anybody can just say they are 'born again'.
