I know that a witness is not supposed to associate with worldlies. Suppose, then, that a witness were in a great need, and either took the help and later sort of kept the person at a distance, or refused the help. Do witnesses understand how that makes them look to the outside world? What kind of "theocratic warfare" is this?

The Witnesses, like so many other rigid, controlling, fundamentalistic religions, have NO CLUE as to how they REALLY LOOK to 'outsiders'...
Take, for example, one group that horrifies and amazes me... Fundamentalist Muslims... Do they have NO CLUE as to how foolish that edict about Middle Eastern women hiding their faces, makes them look to the rest of the world??? Do they have NO CLUE about the ridiculous extremes that edict is carried to???
I clearly remember a photo in a National Geographic [or other world-famous magazine; perhaps it was LIFE mag...] showing two extremely overweight Saudi women trotting down an aisle in a bazaar, with their faces covered by the requisite black veil, but the same veil was pulled up across their shoulders, exposing their HUGE, broad behinds in garish floral prints!!! Gaaaah!!! That's one of those things a person can NEVER un-see....
I've heard about incidents in which an unrelated man has accidentally blundered in upon women dressing, and instead of hiding their naked, private parts, the Middle Eastern women held whatever fabric/garment was at hand, ACROSS THEIR FACE, INSTEAD!!!

Witnesses have a selfish, over-righteous mentality about themselves. They only care about outside appearances as it relates to making the Org look good or not bringing reproach on "Jehovah's" name. They do not care if they appear fanatical, aloof or uncaring to non-dubs. Their opinion doesn't matter, they're bird food.
