I thought this was funny coming from a sitting President.

Even though the majority of the time Obama seems to try to display a passive, or easygoing way with his words

you can tell from this interview that the oil spill is finally getting to him. He is hearing about it everywhere he goes and

    from all sides.

His cool, calm demeanor is starting to show a few cracks in it.

Whether you like or dislike him, one things for sure, this is so out of character for him.

Already this is making its way around the internet and spreading like wildfire.

Would this qualify as acting like a cowboy? Or is it the "smart power" Hillary likes to talk about?

Sean Connery has a good line in "Rising Sun." He says that in America when something gets f***ed up everybody looks to see who they can blame, in Japan they go fix what's f***ed up.

We need to get this thing fixed, not look for asses to kick.

Incredible. When he is "no-drama Obama" he's criticized for not speaking out forcefuly enough. When he speaks strongly, he's criticized for that as well. Can't win!

It's the same hypocrisy that says, "keep government out of business!" Then, when there is a disaster, it's, "The government should fix this!"

    Ha, Bizzy!

Reminds me of these words of the true Chosen One.

Matthew 11:16 -19 "How can I account for this generation? The people have been like spoiled children whining to their parents, 'We wanted to skip rope, and you were always too tired; we wanted to talk, but you were always too busy.' John came fasting and they called him crazy. I came feasting and they called me a lush, a friend of the riffraff. Opinion polls don't count for much, do they? The proof of the pudding is in the eating." MSG

Sooo does anyone ever show the full video? Have any of you seen it? Matt Lauer specifically asks about kicking butt, Obama is responding to Lauer's question.

MATT LAUER: Critics are now talking about your style which is the first time I've heard that in a long time. And they're saying here is a guy who likes to be known as cool and calm and collected, and this isn't the time for cool, calm and collected.

    BARACK OBAMA: Right.

LAUER: That this is not the time to meet with experts and advisors, this is a time to spend more time in the Gulf and -- I never thought I'd say this to a president -- but kick some butt. And, and I don't mean it to be funny.

Ummm beks I saw the whole interview. I only posted the shortest clip I could find just showing him(Obama) using the

words "know who's ass to kick". I know many people won't look at a video that is too long because of having a slower

internet connection than me. But you hit the nail on the head with what Matt asked and what Obama said. Matt used

the term/word butt (supposedly the more subtle and easier on youngsters ears) and Obama the one that I figured would

choose the less argumentative form, went ahead and said, " who's ass" to kick.

I'm not knocking him for using it. I find it funny though coming from a President knowing that he is on camera and the mic is on.

I'm not pro-Obama nor Anti-Obama. Neither Democrat nor Republican. I like being an independent so I can critique each

individual on their own merits or lack thereof and not group them all together in one package.

Hey Stone, I've just heard so muuuuuuuuuuuuch crap about this snippet of video (lots of FOX foolishness), but I never see it in it's entirety. I could care less about his language or apparent level of anger or calm. I just get tired of falseness.

My comment was not directed at you.

We need to get this thing fixed, not look for asses to kick.
Obama: "We talk to these folks because they potentially have the best answers, so I know who's ass to kick."

I interpret that as meaning not "who to blame" - but "who's got the best solution and, thus, who needs the most motivation to get involved in the situation".

Personally, I want to know which gas stations are selling BP oil, so that I can 'vote with my pocketbook':

    • ampm
    • Aral
    • ARCO
    • BP Travel Centre
    • BP Connect
    • BP Express
    • BP Shop
    • BP 2go
    • Castrol

And BP's history regarding the environment:

    Also:

"In 2008, BP was awarded a satirical prize, the "Emerald Paintbrush" award, by Greenpeace UK. The "Emerald Paintbrush" award was given to BP in order to highlight its alleged greenwashing campaign. Critics point out that while BP advertises its relatively minimal investment in alternative energy sources, the majority of its investments continue to go into fossil fuels.[91] BP was also one nominee for the 2009 Greenwash Awards.[92]
